Free German Music Concert

May 14 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Kultura, the German Cultural Network in Ecuador, Cultura UCuenca, and the Humboldt Association present an evening of music with Víctor Renaudeau and Juan Núñez“Paisaje Sonoro” (translated as “Soundscape”).

Wednesday, May 14 at 7 PM

Chapel of the Medicine Museum (Museo de la Medicina)

Av. 12 de Abril between Solano and Federico Malo, Cuenca

Free admission – no reservations – no tickets required.

In a retrospective picture of more than 150 years of history, the two artists travel through the regional music of northeastern Argentina, accompanied by images during the concert. This creates a magical moment where the music becomes part of the landscape, focusing on the German and Central European traditions brought by immigrants at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.

The influence, cultural contribution, and customs of these communities are deeply rooted in the identity of the Argentinean coastal region. In the provinces of Misiones, Corrientes, Formosa, Chaco, Entre Rios, and Santa Fe, several German colonies were established, along with Polish, Ukrainian, Basque-French, and Italian colonies.

These German colonies have preserved many of their traditions, including music, dance, gastronomy, and architecture.

Juan Núñez (accordion-bandoneon), born in the interior of Misiones, is one of the province’s most acclaimed artists in recent years. He is joined by Víctor Renaudeau, a violinist from Córdoba and a renowned artist in the region. Together, they deliver a unique performance that paints a rich soundscape—retrospective and full of musicality, imagery, and tradition.
