Expanding on a program in the United States, the Yellow Dot Program is a method of informing emergency services and first responders of pertinent medical and contact information for those participating in the program. Should a person be incapacitated, medical information can be found attached to the back of the resident’s front door or in close proximity to it. Through an arrangement with ECU911, the program is being introduced here in Cuenca.
A participant would place a large yellow dot in the upper right corner on the outside of his or her front door, which will indicate to the first responder to look for the medical history document immediately inside. (As an example, a Command Hook can be attached to the back of the front door, and the medical info/contact sheet could be inserted in a plastic sleeve to be hung from the hook.) Each resident of the home would have his or her own medical sheet.

El Programa Punto Amarillo
Derivado de un programa en los Estados Unidos, el Programa Punto Amarillo es un método para informar a los servicios de emergencia y los primeros en responder de la información médica y de contacto pertinente para quienes participan en el programa.
En caso de que una persona esté incapacitada, se puede encontrar información médica adjunta a la parte posterior de la puerta principal del residente o muy cerca de esta. A través de un acuerdo con ECU911, el programa se está introduciendo aquí en Cuenca.
Un participante colocaría un gran punto amarillo en la esquina superior derecha en el exterior de la puerta de su casa, lo que indicará al primer respondedor que busque el documento del historial médico inmediatamente dentro. (Por ejemplo, un gancho de comando se puede conectar a la parte posterior de la puerta delantera y la información médica / hoja de contacto se puede insertar en una funda de plástico para colgar del gancho).
